Balsam Bashing Event - 27th June 2015

All residents are invited to participate in the Balsam Bashin Event being held on Saturday 27th June 2015 at Stamford Brook. The event will start at 10am and the meeting point will be by the Stamford Brook playground.

Himalyan Balsam is an invasive non-native plant that is threatening the countryside. It is shading out native flora and threatening the biodiversity of rivers. In the winter the plants die back leaving the riverbanks exposed to erosion and flooding. To help remove this invasive plant from Stamford Brook all residents are invited to this event where we will try to pull up as much of it as possible. There will be plenty of Balsam Bashing games to make his a fun event for all.

The event will start at 10am and the meeting point will be by the Stamford Brook playground. We will be handing out some gloves but you may wish to bring your own in case we run out if there is a large turnout. We recommend long trousers, insect repellant and boots. Hopefully the weather will be sunny but if there is heavy rain the event will be cancelled. Children over 8 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

If you have any questions about this event please contact the property manager Amanda Woods on 0161 2128314.
